Miami artist and comedian Brian Kerr shares the details of his Japa Yoga practice and other mindfulness techniques he uses to reach the flow state on command, despite the crushing anxiety that comes with artistic performance.

Brian and Cory also shed some light on their own daily personal practices. They admit that daily mindfulness practice isn’t always glamorous, and the discipline of maintaining the practice may not always go as intended. They each describe ways they intentionally cast themselves into discomfort to reach breakthroughs on the other side. In the face of such challenging efforts, the three agree that self-kindness and compassion are ideal companion strategies for a healthy mindfulness practice.
